When it comes to the world of professional golf… winning is hard.
Fields are huge. Courses are tough. And at the end of the day only one person gets to stand in the winner’s circle. Odds are if you are good enough to make it to the PGA Tour that fate will eventually smile upon you, but odds aren’t guarantees.
Patrick Rodgers is someone who is at the center of this entire idea. He has over 300 starts to his name and has not won a PGA Tour event. His journey was recently chronicled during an episode of PGA TOUR Studios’ Mindful and it is well worth your time.
For those unaware, Rodgers was quite the winner ar the collegiate level. He won 11 times while at Stanford, a mark that tied the record set by Tiger Woods of all people.
It has been over a decade since Rodgers first turned professional and a professional win still eludes him. As far as recent form is concerned Rodgers finished in third to start the season at the Sony Open in Hawaii, and he also finished T11 at the Players Championship.
Golf has a funny way of things settling at the right time. You never know when your moment will come. This episode of Mindful shows that for Patrick Rodgers he is prepared for all of the moments both in and out of golf, and that kind of peace is hard to come by.
