Indian Drone Company Announces ₹80 Crore Campus In Haryana

AVPL International will inaugurate Phase 1 of its proposed ₹80 crore Drone City Haryana project on May 16, 2026. The roughly $8.3 million campus sits at Village Sisai in Hansi, Haryana. The project marks a major step toward an integrated drone manufacturing, skilling, and innovation hub in India.

The project has received incentive support worth ₹58.51 crore (about $6.1 million) under the Haryana Enterprise and Employment Policy-2020. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini laid the foundation stone on September 8, 2025.

Drone Manufacturing Hub Anchors the 11.5-Acre Campus

Drone City Haryana spans nearly 11.5 acres. The site will feature 23 industrial sheds dedicated to drone and component companies from across India.

The ecosystem will focus on agriculture drones, industrial drones, logistics drones, surveillance drones, and advanced UAV systems. Activities cover drone manufacturing, component production, testing, training, research, innovation, and deployment.

The campus includes drone manufacturing units, component facilities, testing and demonstration zones, R&D labs, pilot and technician training centers, and battery, sensor, and communication system development. Entrepreneurship and skill development programs and a large drone flying and deployment area round out the site.

Roughly 800 youth in Haryana are expected to plug into employment, entrepreneurship, drone operations, technical training, and manufacturing. The initiative builds Haryana’s position as an emerging hub for drone manufacturing, defense technologies, aerospace innovation, and advanced skill development.

“Drone City Haryana is a dream come true project for us. We envisioned this as an integrated ecosystem focused on drone manufacturing, innovation, skilling and entrepreneurship,” said Dr. Preet Sandhu, Founder and Managing Director, AVPL International. “Through this initiative, we aim to bring together manufacturers, startups, technology innovators, training institutions and service providers under one platform focused on future technologies. We sincerely thank the Government of Haryana and the Industries Department for their continuous support and encouragement in helping us develop this ecosystem. The initiative aims to contribute towards strengthening India’s indigenous drone and aerospace ecosystem while creating meaningful employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth.”

500 Drone Udhami Scheme Targets SC Youth

Haryana Cabinet Minister Shri Krishan Kumar Bedi will headline the inauguration as Chief Guest. Former Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu, senior government officials, industry leaders, and drone and defense stakeholders will also attend.

The same day features the “500 Drone Udhami Scheme” orientation program. The Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation co-leads the effort.

Under that scheme, 500 youth from the Scheduled Caste category will train and qualify as drone entrepreneurs, pilots, technicians, and agri-drone service providers. The launch also kicks off the Mission 1 Panchayat 1 Drone Udhyami initiative.

AVPL International, headquartered in Gurugram, has trained more than 100,000 youth across India since 2016. The company also manufactures DGCA-certified agricultural drones and supports field adoption through drone-as-a-service models.
