WISPR Systems SkyScout 2+ Earns Blue UAS Clearance

WISPR Systems’ SkyScout 2+ receives Blue UAS Cleared List designation from DCMA, validating the platform for federal, public safety, and regulated commercial operations.

WISPR Systems has announced Blue UAS Cleared List approval for its SkyScout 2+ unmanned aircraft system. The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) manages the Blue UAS Cleared List. It evaluates platforms for cybersecurity, supply chain security, and operational integrity. Inclusion streamlines federal procurement and signals NDAA compliance.

Blue UAS Approval Validates SkyScout 2+ for Federal Drone Deployment

The Blue UAS designation follows a rigorous review of the SkyScout 2+’s cybersecurity safeguards, supply chain integrity, system architecture, and operational reliability. The platform previously earned Green UAS Certification from AUVSI in February 2026. Under the current framework, Green UAS-certified platforms gain automatic eligibility for the Blue UAS Cleared List.

“Blue UAS approval removes a significant barrier for federal and public safety agencies that need secure, NDAA-compliant systems they can deploy immediately,” said John McArthur, Chief Revenue Officer at WISPR Systems. “With SkyScout 2+, agencies don’t have to compromise between cybersecurity assurance and field performance. This designation accelerates procurement and reinforces our commitment to building mission-ready platforms in the United States.”

SkyScout 2+ Technical Architecture Supports Secure Field Operations

The SkyScout 2+ incorporates AES-256 encrypted communications, vetted domestically sourced components, and a hardened system architecture. U.S.-based design, assembly, and lifecycle support underpin the platform’s secure supply chain profile.

Field performance features include long-range obstacle detection with precision terrain following. The platform also provides EMI protection for high-interference operations and intelligent power and thermal management for extreme conditions. The WISPR SkyBoss™ controller adds AES-256 encrypted transmission, IP55 protection, and extended runtime.

Blue UAS clearance now also exempts platforms from FCC Covered List restrictions on foreign-produced UAS components through January 2027. The SkyScout 2+ is available now through WISPR Systems and authorized distributors.
