The Beatles’ next release in their ongoing Super Deluxe series is their seminal 1965 album Rubber Soul. The box set will be helmed once again by producer Giles Martin, along with engineer Sam Okell.
Like previous deluxe editions, this one is overflowing with new mixes and behind-the-scenes goodies: never-before-released recording sessions and home demos, a fresh stereo mix, the original mono mix, a “previously unheard John Lennon song outline,” and an 88-page book with an introduction by Paul McCartney. It’s out October 2 via Apple Corps. You can listen to an early recording of “Michelle” below.
The new mixes were created using technology developed at Peter Jackson’s WingNut Films Productions Ltd. Jackson, of course, has been heavily involved in Beatles’ projects over the years, including the 2021 eight-hour documentary Get Back.
