Simone Ashley turned a packed “The Devil Wears Prada 2” press day in New York into a tightly controlled black-and-white shoe run on Friday, keeping the palette graphic across five looks while moving from sandals to sneakers to pumps to boots.

In one daylight look, Ashley wore a pale long-sleeved minidress cut close through the torso, then broken at the hem into rolled tubular edges and loose ties that fell at the thigh. She tucked a black DeMellier New York shoulder bag high under her arm and finished with black Louboutin Miss Z sandals that left most of the foot exposed: one broad front strap, a slim ankle strap, an open heel and a high, thin stiletto.

At another stop, Ashley went flatter without losing the thesis. She paired a long-sleeve Maccapani top printed in blurred black, gray and acid-lime patches, plus a single daisy at the chest, with faded cutoff shorts and a small black Balenciaga Le City bag.

She paired the look with white-and-black Puma Speedcats, worn low to the pavement with a close-cut profile, rounded toe and black side sweep that kept the silhouette quick rather than chunky.

Her dressier stops stayed in the same tonal register. For the all-Dior look, she paired a black satin bow-neck blouse with a short dark leather miniskirt and black Dior Initials pumps, a pointed pair with a curved topline and low-set gold C-and-D hardware across the vamp.

Later that night, for the InStyle and “The Devil Wears Prada 2” Good Ideas dinner, she wore ivory Jimmy Choo Love pumps under a white one-shoulder dress cut with a deep front opening, an oval-buckle belt and a netted fringe panel at the skirt. The shoe line stayed severe, which helped keep all that fringe from going soft.

The clearest contrast came in cobalt blue. Ashley wore Fidan Novruzova’s long-sleeve mini dress with a high buttoned neck and a short draped hem that swelled softly at the hips, then grounded it with the brand’s Tall Iman boots in Cannoli Cream. The knee-high leather trouser boot featured a square toe, padded footbed and stainless-steel stiletto heel. Against that saturated blue, the pale boot gave the look a harder finish than a sandal or pump would have.

While it may seem like a lot of outfit changes for one day, it makes sense, given how much Ashley has on her plate. She’s spent the week in New York promoting “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” in which she plays Amari, Miranda Priestly’s first assistant.

Burberry also rolled out its High Summer 2026 campaign featuring Ashley earlier in the week. Friday’s shoe streak read less like random outfit churn than a neat press tour strategy, one that caught the season’s split between pared back retro sneakers and polished pumps, then pulled tall boots into the same black-and-white orbit.
