MILAN — Storied silkmaker Ratti has named Rossella Ceruti its new chief executive officer.
The veteran fashion executive was most recently chief operating officer at Pomellato, as well as CEO of Valenza Setting Lab, which the Kering-owned Italian jeweler acquired in 2024.
Her appointment is effective immediately and she succeeds Sergio Tamborini in the role, which he has held since 2010. He was also a former president of industry association Sistema Moda Italia.

The executive thanked Tamborini for his contribution over the past 16 years.

Before Pomellato, Ceruti was COO at Dsquared2 and has held executive roles at Dolce & Gabbana, Ballantyne and Cerruti, as well as at consultancy Kearney. A graduate of the Bocconi University in business administration, she holds a master’s degree from Columbia Business School.

Ratti was founded in Como in 1945 by the late Antonio Ratti and has grown into a global leader in silk fabric production, which also makes textile accessories, like ties, scarves and foulards.
Since 1958, when Ratti opened its factory in Guanzate, south of Como, the company’s operations have comprised integrated production processes, from the treatment of yarns to weaving, dyeing, photo incision, printing and finishing.
The textile maker was acquired by the Marzotto Group in 2010. The latter also controls textile firms Marzotto, Estethia G.B. Conte, Guabello, Marlane, Fratelli Tallia di Delfino, Opera Piemontese, Tessuti di Sondrio, Nuova Tessilbrenta, Lanerossi, and Linificio e Canapificio Nazionale.
