Shedeur Sanders’ hilariously bad OTA pass needs to be seen to be believed

Let’s preface this by saying that we’re in OTAs, and it’s never worth freaking out about what happens in OTAs — but we can still laugh at comically bad plays that happen. Shedeur Sanders gave us one of the worst passes you’ll ever see in Browns’ training yesterday, when he seemingly forgot that defensive lineman Mike Hall even existed.

I’ve spent a lot of time studying this, and it’s absolutely fantastic — in a bad way. Sanders has 1.72 seconds of seeing Hall standing there with his hand up before he decides to throw over the middle, directly at him. At no point does he see that K.C. Concepcion is WIDE open, running a drag route and calling for the ball. If Sanders throws to his left, it’s a big-time completion. That would be too easy though, so he decides instead to huck the ball directly at Mike Hall’s hand.

Hall does move his hand, slightly. It travels about two inches to his left. Honestly, it’s almost more impressive that Sanders thew this into the tight window of his hand, rather than the entire open parts of the football field.
