Rogue Cortex and UAS Nexus Launch Modular FPV Drone Developer Kit

Salt Lake City partnership pairs UAS Nexus’ Platform One airframe with Rogue Cortex’s SDK to give engineers a production-grade FPV foundation.

Rogue Cortex and UAS Nexus have launched a modular FPV drone developer kit. The Salt Lake City-based companies announced the partnership on May 8, 2026. The kit pairs UAS Nexus’ Platform One drone with Rogue Cortex’s SDK, software services, and developer program.

Why a Modular FPV Drone Developer Kit

FPV drones now anchor missions across defense, public safety, industrial inspection, and professional cinematography. Most teams still build from scratch, integrating flight controllers, video systems, radios, and autonomy stacks on their own.

The new kit ships an out-of-the-box development environment that is both production-grade and openly extensible. Engineers, researchers, and operators get a single, extensible foundation for FPV-based drone solutions.

“Developers shouldn’t have to spend six months on plumbing before they can prototype a real drone application,” said Arnaud Thiercelin, CEO at Rogue Cortex. “By combining our SDK and developer program with Platform One, we’re giving builders a kit they can unbox, flash, and start writing meaningful code against on day one — whether they’re working on autonomy, perception, swarming, or new payload integrations.”

“Platform One was designed from the ground up to be modular, adaptable, and developer-friendly,” said Bobby Sakaki, CEO at UAS Nexus. “Rogue Cortex brings the software depth, tooling, and community focus that turn a great airframe into a true development platform. Together, we’re lowering the barrier to entry for serious FPV innovation.”

What the Kit Includes

The Platform One airframe ships as a modular FPV-class drone with swappable core components. It includes standardized power and data interfaces, and configurations for indoor, outdoor, and GNSS-denied operation.

The Rogue Cortex SDK provides full vehicle control across multiple flight control software stacks. It also exposes video pipeline access, radio management, mission scripting, and integration hooks for autonomy, computer vision, and custom payloads.

The developer program adds documentation, sample code, and technical support. Members get early access to new SDK features, hardware revisions, and partner integrations.

Earlier coverage from Dronelife reported that UAS Nexus also runs the Drone Syndicate Store, a marketplace focused on NDAA and Blue UAS-compliant components. That channel positions Platform One inside the secure, trusted U.S. drone supply chain.

The modular FPV drone developer kit is available to qualified developers, integrators, and institutional partners today. Interested teams can request access by emailing [email protected].
