Recycled cotton has historically struggled to meet the durability and consistency demands of commercial denim.
Recover Textile Systems and Prosperity Textile have teamed up to address that gap, combining the Madrid-based materials science company’s recycled cotton fiber with the vertically integrated denim manufacturer’s production expertise.
The partnership is designed as a flexible, production-ready platform that can evolve in response to customer needs and volumes, with applications across a range of denim end uses.
“Our partnership with Prosperity Textile represents an important step in making it easier for brands to integrate circular materials beyond niche collections, into their core quality denim ranges,” said Anders Sjöblom, CEO of Recover. “Working closely with a mill partner that has the technical depth, innovation mindset and scale of Prosperity Textile allows us to jointly develop denim fabrics that meet the real performance and quality consistency expectations of global brands, while reducing reliance on virgin cotton.”
The collaboration will produce a range of denim fabrics under the Recover Fabrics platform, manufactured in Vietnam and positioned as a production-ready offering for global brands.

The partners’ Kingpins Amsterdam presentation showcased sample garments, demonstrating potential applications across denim categories.

The platform supports ongoing development, with fabric options that can be adapted based on customer demand, volumes and end-use applications. Both companies said the partnership is intended to support industrial-scale production while maintaining consistency in quality and performance.
“By combining Recover’s recycled cotton expertise with our industrial manufacturing capabilities, we can deliver competitive, high volume denim fabrics that meet the performance, lead time, and quality expectations of global brands,” said Stafford Lau, CEO of Prosperity Textile. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to making sustainable, high-quality denim a viable solution for core collections produced at an industrial scale.”
Recover, backed by STORY3 Capital and Goldman Sachs, develops recycled cotton fiber and blends in partnership with brands and supply chain players. Founded in 2002, the Hong Kong-founded denim mill operates production hubs in China and Vietnam, with an annual capacity approaching 100 million yards.
