Queen Camilla made multiple stops throughout New York City on Wednesday during her state visit to the U.S. with husband King Charles III. For her styling on Wednesday, when she paid a visit to the 9/11 Memorial with the king and parted from him to head to the New York Public Library, she kept her footwear classically formal with black pumps.

After visiting the 9/11 Memorial downtown, the queen consort attended a literacy event at the public library, where Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Wintour were also present, while the king visited a community garden in Harlem. For her engagements, Queen Camilla wore a dress from a brand she regularly relies on, Fiona Clare, opting for a navy blue silk crepe design with rows of leaves resembling laurels embellishing the upper portion of the long-sleeve garment. This follows her wearing a fuchsia Fiona Clare gown with amethyst and diamond jewels at the state dinner held in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday.

Queen Camilla grounded her ensemble with a pair of shoes marrying practicality and formality: a simple black leather pump with a sturdy block heel of modest height and a round toe elevated slightly by a lug sole in front; the pump also featured a traditional low, curved vamp. This silhouette fits neatly within the queen consort’s typical footwear aesthetic, which leans toward lower heels, classic pump shapes and neutral colors. Some of the shoes in her wardrobe include beige and black Chanel cap toe pumps and styles from Eliot Zed, ranging from silver Mary Jane pumps to taupe suede kitten heels.
