Posse Lands on Bleecker Street as U.S. Becomes Its Top Market

Posse has opened its first stand-alone retail store, marking a significant milestone for the Sydney-based womenswear brand founded by Danielle Mulham in 2016. Located at 392 Bleecker Street in New York, the store opened its doors on Monday, signaling the label’s growing commitment to its expanding U.S. customer base.

“The United States represents Posse’s most significant market, with New York consistently ranking as our top-performing state,” Mulham told WWD, adding that choosing Bleecker Street for its first flagship felt like a natural choice.

“It combined commercial performance with a sense of nostalgic significance for me, as I have wonderful childhood memories visiting the West Village with my family,” she said.

Designed by Louis Rambert, the Bleecker Street space reflects Posse’s philosophy of timelessness over trend. The interiors feature a mix of vintage and custom pieces, creating a warm, lived-in environment that mirrors the brand’s understated aesthetic.

“I am very drawn to beautiful, raw materials that get better with time and add such character, and Louis understood this from the beginning. There are also special and unique antique trinkets sprinkled throughout the store that add an element of interest and curiosity. There’s a subtle sense of romance woven into Posse’s universe, which was met by Louis’ disciplined eye to source global treasures, transforming the space into an intimate and personal dressing room that’s made with love,” Mulham said.

The store will carry Posse’s pre-fall collection alongside L’Essentials, its core offering and exclusive handbags by Underwater Weaving in custom colorways.

Posse’s U.S. audience has grown at a rate that outpaces the brand’s overall business by a ratio of two to one. Globally, the brand has seen a 37 percent year-over-year increase in business, supported by strong wholesale partnerships with retailers including Net-a-porter, Moda Operandi, Mytheresa and Selfridges.

In this new chapter, Mulham said she will balance wholesale and physical retail by “exploring meaningful, purpose-led future retail opportunities both interstate and globally.”

“I cannot wait to spend time in our New York store in the first month with both loyal and new Posse customers. Physical retail allows us to meet the Posse woman in person; understand her needs and wants, and where we can improve as a brand to make her life simpler with beautifully made garments for everyday,” she said.

Posse works with certified partners across its supply chain and prioritizes materials such as European flax linen, GOTS-certified organic cotton, and responsibly sourced wool. Since its launch the brand has cultivated a loyal following that spans both celebrities and tastemakers, including Dakota Johnson, Sofia Richie, Katie Holmes and Leandra Medine Cohen.

The new store will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
