Nike’s Futuristic Air Liquid Max Sneaker Gets Most Colorful Look Yet

After a more limited rollout to begin its life in the spring, Nike’s newest Air Max sneaker is now loading up with an outpouring of new colorways to release soon.

The Nike Air Liquid Max “Aurora Green” uses its namesake color for the most vivid rendition of its cushioning technology to date. A hue cribbed from the Norther Lights makes the entirety of the sole unit stand out from the upper, from the Cushlon foam directly beneath the foot to the frog toe-pad inspired Air units below. The black mesh upper then features the new wave pattern that recently emerged, now in a mix of deep blue and the same blue-green. Swooshes on the sidewalls and tongue are clad in silver, the latter of which is surrounded by another mix of blue and green lines.

Point-loaded Air units are mapped out on the Air Liquid Max to provide cushioning only where needed, otherwise leaving negative space that reduces its material footprint. This tech has justifiably led the narrative for the sneaker, essentially providing an update to the Vapormax system that debuted nine years prior, but it also employs three layers of printing on its upper to unlock a precise level of details and dimension.

The launch edition of the Air Liquid Max arrived on Air Max day in black and green to lean into its frog connection and was quickly followed up by a blacked-out Fragment collaboration. A few colorways have been doled out in the time since, but a proliferation of leaks over the past few weeks show the volume of options will soon increase significantly.

The Nike Air Liquid Max “Aurora Green” doesn’t yet have a firm release date but is expected to drop in the coming months through Nike’s website and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $210.
