The actress was a Ralph Lauren guest at The Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Sunday in London. Naturally, she was outfitted by the brand for the event, including a pair of shoes from the Ralph Lauren Collection. The “Big Little Lies” star wore the brand’s Christie Woven Leather Oxford in all white.

The Oxford shoes are a style that has been a part of the brand since its inception. The designer is known for pairing sleek, tailored menswear elements with the soft, romantic dressing that defines women’s fashion. The Christie is the result of that design fusion, merging the classic silhouette of menswear brogue Oxfords with the sophisticated sensibility of Ralph Lauren Collection.

The Christie is crafted with full-grain leather artfully woven in a herringbone motif for graphic impact, which the brand says it was a direct request from the designer. The shoes feature a slight heel that measures 0.25 inches and are designed with a rounded toe.

The Oxfords have a lace-up front with cotton laces, goatskin lining and a leather outsole. The shoes are currently available in black and are on sale for $770 on the Ralph Lauren website. Kidman paired the white shoes with a matching suit, which she paired with a pale pink shirt and tie.

Woven details have been spotted in a variety of shoe designs, including sandals, boots and ballerina flats. However, brands like Bottega Veneta have been delivering woven shoes for quite some time. Celebrities like Julianne Moore have been fans of the style, and in 2023, the “May/December” star stepped out in a chic pair of Bottega Veneta mules.

The Oscar-winning actress wore the $1,950 Knot style that features an open-toed silhouette with a square-toed base, complete with wide upper straps crafted from woven black leather.

Fast forward to 2026, and the woven shoe trend is now taking over sportier, more casual footwear. Both Nike and Adidas have introduced new styles of their popular sneaker models, with intricate woven details. In June, it was revealed that Nike would soon release the all-new Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble in a woven multicolor style.

The pair’s intricately woven wide panels are the true highlight of the shoe. It features colorful textile ribbons, which are threaded through the Air Max 95’s signature synthetic suede ribbing, adding bright pops of colorway to the typically gray gradient aesthetic.

Adidas blended two major shoe trends with one of the new offerings this year. They recreated their popular Samba style into a woven mule version. The Adidas Samba Mule cuts off the classic sneaker’s heel and ups its breathability by rendering its base out of woven leather, which makes them appropriate for warmer summer days.

The shoes maintain the suede T-toe from its original build and match the cream color used throughout the rest of the upper. A lighter gum cupsole also keeps the familiar shape, while the gold Samba branding now appearing in script rather than its usual sans-serif font.

Shoes have taken center stage at Wimbledon and other major tennis events. This year saw the return of the Zendaya-inspired tennis ball shoes, as well as other tennis-related shoes that paid homage to the sport.

The 2026 edition of Wimbledon saw Italy’s Jannik Sinner defend his men’s singles title on Sunday and Czechia’s Linda Nosková secure her maiden Grand Slam title during Saturday’s women’s singles final at the historic All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
