Michael Jordan’s Last Game at MSG as Bull Inspires This AJ1 Low

While New York City is still buzzing over the Knicks championship, Jordan Brand is looking back much further to another memorable hoops night in the city.

The Air Jordan 1 Low “Garden” has been made to commemorate Michael Jordan‘s last game at Madison Square Garden as a Chicago Bull. In that 1998 game, which was highlighted in “The Last Dance,” Jordan put up 42 points in a win while breaking out a pair of the Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago,” a shoe that at that point was 13 years old and significantly outdated in its technology.

With colorblocking the same as the “Chicago” colorway, this low-top edition utilizes rose-woven overlays in black and red. The black Swoosh gets gold trim on the lateral side to match the heel’s Wings logo, as well as the lower three rows of eyelets. A blue and orange striped lace loop on the tongue then serves as a subtle shoutout to the team that calls the Garden home, and red insoles also carry a blue Nike Air logo on the right shoe and orange on the left.

In “The Last Dance,” Jordan confirmed Madison Square Garden was his favorite place to play and that his feet were bleeding at halftime because of his Air Jordan 1s. Still, he chose to continue playing in the shoes that he wore in his first game at MSG because he was playing so well.

The Air Jordan 1 Low “Chicago” released late last year and can now be found at a discount through many channels, but this new edition could wind up being more coveted. The last time their high-top counterparts dropped was in 2022 with faux-aged detailing under the “Lost & Found” moniker.

The Air Jordan 1 Low “Garden” will release Sept. 26 through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $140.
