Louis Vuitton Nods to Space in Fall 2026 Menswear Campaign

PARIS Louis Vuitton is pushing its wanderlust to new heights with a fall menswear campaign set in a space center.

The advertising images and accompanying film show models posing in front of a rocket launch pad, in a retro-style lab and next to a scale model of the moon — bringing to mind “The Right Stuff,” the cult movie about the pilots selected to be America’s first astronauts in the 1960s.

Pharrell Williams, creative director of menswear at Louis Vuitton, narrates the short film directed by Oliver Hadlee Peach.

The campaign is designed to underscore the “timeless luxury” theme of the fall 2026 collection, with an emphasis on high-tech fabrics designed for endurance.

Williams told WWD he was keen to introduce to Vuitton some of the technical materials he’s been using at Adidas, citing the example of the German sportswear firm’s patented Climacool technology.

“I think that it’s high time that we bring that to a luxurious platform: properties in fabrics that do things,” he said.

Star products for fall include the new LV Drop 300 sneaker, named for its lightness, since it weighs just over 300 grams per shoe. The retro-style running shoe features materials including LV Silk Tech, which is 51 percent silk and 49 percent recycled nylon, and is billed as extra lightweight, water-repellent, anti-fraying and crease-resistant.

The sneaker combines the twill-woven fabric with water-resistant nylon, suede calf leather and python, and has a rubber outsole featuring a concentric ripple design.

The shoe, which launches on Thursday, is available in colors ranging from monochromatic neutrals to primary hues and pastels, with motifs including Vuitton’s signature Monogram and dyed snakeskin.

A full range of additional Silk Tech products, including ready-to-wear pieces, footwear and a permanent line of bags and travel goods, is also available in stores. These include a windbreaker, down puffer and bags such as the Christopher East West backpack, the Speedy and a City bag capable of carrying up to 50 kilograms.

“Louis Vuitton Silk Tech is unprecedented and yet reads as an early hallmark of the house’s globetrotting legacy. Reinterpreting the resilience-to-weight ratio and incredible strength of early 20th-century silk parachutes and hot air balloons, it combines mechanical feat with textural appeal,” the brand said in a statement.

The second and final drop of the fall 2026 collection will be available from Aug. 6.
