Jimmy Choo Unveils Bon Bon Capsule Inspired by Helen Musselwhite’s Layered Paper Artworks

FOUR SEASONS: British luxury footwear and accessories brand Jimmy Choo is expanding its From the Atelier series with the third installment, centered on the Bon Bon bag.

With previous editions, the brand focused on embroidery and crystal embellishment, while the latest one celebrates the possibility of leather and draws inspiration from a bespoke artwork by British paper artist Helen Musselwhite, who created a composition interpreting the four seasons.

The Capri-owned brand translated Musselwhite’s creation into four limited-edition Bon Bon bags adorned with sculpted leather pieces, each representing a season. The Bon Bon style was first introduced in 2019 and has since become a key silhouette for the brand.

Spring appears in pink leather, a reference to creative director Sandra Choi’s favorite flower color. Summer is shown in pale, sun-bleached tones, autumn in layered detailing and an earthy metallic palette, and winter in silver leather with metallic accents. A selection of coordinating shoes will be offered through Jimmy Choo’s made-to-order service.

“When I was introduced to Helen’s work, I was immediately drawn to the way she transforms paper into something deeply emotive. She takes a singular material, something so ordinary and necessary, and through her skill and imagination brings it to life with remarkable depth and feeling. I also begin my design process with a feeling,” said Choi.

“For this capsule, it was about capturing the emotion of the seasons in a way that feels both precious and enduring. Helen and I share a connection to nature as a source of inspiration, as well as a commitment to craft and making. For the pieces ‘From the Atelier’, I wanted to focus on leather as a core material of Jimmy Choo, translating that same sense of transformation onto the Bon Bon. Taking something inherently familiar and elevating it through craft, so it comes to life with dimension, movement and richness,” she added.
