Hang Lung Group and Hang Lung Properties has appointed Leo Tsoi, a seasoned retail executive in Greater China and Asia, as its next chief executive officer and executive director, effective Oct. 1.
Tsoi will join the Hong Kong luxury real estate developer on Sept. 7 as CEO designate and executive director before formally taking over the top job at the start of the fourth quarter of 2026.
The 56-year-old Tsoi will succeed Weber Lo, who will step down after eight years, but remain as adviser to the chair for one year.
Tsoi wil be tasked with strengthening Hang Lung’s relationships with stakeholders, tenants and customers to fuel the next stage of growth.
“Hang Lung are excited to welcome Leo as our next CEO,” said Adriel Chan, chair of Hang Lung. “His track record in driving growth through excellence makes him the best candidate to lead Hang Lung into our next chapter, and the boards and I look forward to working closely with him.”
Tsoi currently serves as the CEO of Toys “R” Us Asia, where he has overseen a turnaround of the business through an asset-lite model, an expanded focus on the “kidult” customer segment and a renewed growth trajectory across Greater China and Southeast Asia.
Before joining the American toy retailer over three years ago, Tsoi served as CEO of Starbucks China for a year after holding several senior leadership roles.
Tsoi graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with an undergraduate degree in business administration and Japan Study, according to LinkedIn.
