Gayle King Made Old Navy’s CJR Launch Pop With Brian Atwood Pumps

Gayle King took an already saturated Old Navy x Christopher John Rogers look and pushed it further with a pair of bright, color-blocked Brian Atwood pumps.

She took the two-tone shoe trend even further, wearing pointed Brian Atwood stilettos in a four-color suede mix: acid-lime vamps, slim orange ankle straps and heel counters, a pale aqua inner side panel and a hot-pink stiletto heel. She also wore the pair with a low, clean topline that exposed most of the foot and a narrow heel that kept the shape dressy rather than graphic for its own sake. Against the knit set, the pumps did not read as a random contrast piece. King used them to pick up the collection’s whole logic of optimistic color, then condensed it into one compact, high-vamp pump.

That made sense with the rest of the look. King wore a body-skimming long-sleeve knit top and matching skirt cut in horizontal bands of citron, orange-red, hot pink, lilac, sky blue, cream and black, then added red-orange glasses and a deep oxblood crescent shoulder bag. The mix stayed busy, but King kept the line clean by sticking with one fitted silhouette and one sharp shoe.

The pair also fit the shoe lane King has already been building this season. In Paris last month, she and Oprah Winfrey coordinated at both the Chloé and Stella McCartney fall 2026 shows, first in snake-effect Chloé pumps, then in matching versions of Stella McCartney’s Elsa heels, with Oprah in black and King in brown croc-embossed slingbacks.

At the Old Navy x Christopher John Rogers launch event at Old Navy’s Times Square flagship on Monday, King wore a striped knit top and matching midi skirt from the new collaboration, which officially launches Wednesday and marks Old Navy’s second designer capsule after Anna Sui. The event doubled as the collection’s New York kickoff, with guests including Katie Holmes, Jenna Lyons, Chloe Fineman and Kimora Lee Simmons wearing the line throughout the store takeover.
