Carhartt, Ford Partner on Special Super Duty Truck Design

The relationship between fashion and the automotive industry is well documented. So it’s not surprising that Carhartt is partnering with Ford on a special package for its Super Duty truck.

The Carhartt package will be available beginning with the 2027 season for the Ford Super Duty F-250 XLT 4X4 pickups. It includes a special dark-painted grille, 20-inch unique machined and painted wheels with Carhartt forged into the details, special fender vents, lower door, tailgate reinforced with unique color accents, and a Tough Bed spray-in bedliner with the Carhartt logo. On the interior, the trucks will feature cloth seats and stitching based on Carhartt’s Duck Canvas, a wrapped steering wheel and premium all-weather floor mats inspired by the company’s tool bags.

The pickups will be available in six exterior colors including a Neptune Blue that will be new for the 2027 model year.

The Carhartt package was codesigned by Steve Gilmore, chief designer for Ford Vehicle Personalization, who inherited a wheat-colored Carhartt jacket from his father, a retired millwright at an Ohio aluminum plant, 15 years ago.

The relationship between the two companies, which were founded a mere mile apart in Dearborn, Mich., more than 100 years ago, dates back decades when Ford employees wore Carhartt apparel on assembly lines as early as the 1920s. More recently, Carhartt ran a sweepstakes with a custom Ford Bronco II as the grand prize and also sponsored Matt Kenseth’s Ford Fusion NASCAR. In addition, the companies signed a multiyear deal to work together to support the skilled trades, a group of nearly 95 million workers who need a truck for their jobs.

The Super Duty is part of Ford’s F Series, America’s bestselling truck for 49 consecutive years and Canada’s bestselling pickup for 60 years.

The 2027 Super Duty Carhartt will be available to order beginning Friday at Ford dealerships.
