Bottega Veneta Hires Jodie Chan to Lead U.S. Communications and Marketing

Jodie Chan will step into the role of vice president of marketing and communications, Americas at Bottega Veneta, effective Wednesday.

Reporting to Alejandra Rositto, chief executive officer of the Americas, and working in close partnership with Emilie Leblanc, global marketing and communications director — who recently joined the company and is based in Milan — Chan will oversee the development and execution of integrated communications, marketing and VIP strategy for the Americas region.

Chan succeeds Jenny Kim, who left Bottega Veneta to join Dior as chief communications and image officer, Americas.

Prior to this role, Chan served as vice president of marketing and communications at Versace following Dario Vitale‘s appointment as chief creative officer. During that period, Chan led the North America strategy for the house’s redefined — if short-lived — chapter prior to its sale to Prada Group by Capri Holdings. Previously, Chan held the role of vice president, global marketing, at Carolina Herrera for six years after a seven-year stint at Altuzarra.

Bottega Veneta is owned by French luxury group Kering, where CEO Luca de Meo — currently overseeing the house until a successor to Leo Rongone is named — has outlined his turnaround strategy, dubbed “ReconKering,” at Kering’s Capital Markets Day in Florence. The plan places emphasis on strengthening leather goods while doubling the business of Bottega Veneta’s non-leather goods categories, with the ambition of positioning the label among the top 10 luxury players in brand equity.

In December, Bottega Veneta opened a new store in New York City’s Meatpacking District at 58 Gansevoort Street, and creative director Louise Trotter’s debut collection is in stores now.
