Ashley Graham started Met Gala weekend with a date night take on the barely-there evening sandal on Saturday, arriving with husband Justin Ervin at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos’ pre-party at their NoMad apartment in New York.
Graham wore Gianvito Rossi’s Manhattan sandals in gold metallic leather, giving the look a slim flash of shine without veering into a heavier party shoe. The Italian-made Manhattan sandal left the foot mostly bare, with an open toe, a thin crossover vamp strap and an adjustable slingback set behind the ankle.

The 95 mm stiletto heel gave Graham height without the weight of a platform, while the gold metallic leather stayed in the same tonal story as the rest of her look. The style, which retails for $945, is currently available in a silver metallic iteration and a patent red version on the label’s website.
She paired the sandals with a cream draped halter dress that appeared to be Tyler McGillivary’s Maren Halter Dress. Her look featured a halter neckline and a skirt with cinched draping that gave the butter cream dress a lighter evening feel. Graham kept the rest of the styling pared down, wearing soft waves, hoop earrings and carrying a small metallic clutch. Ervin, meanwhile, opted for sage-hued coords and brown suede dress shoes.

The shoe choice put Graham in one of the more reliable red carpet lanes heading into summer: the barely-there metallic sandal. After several seasons of towering platforms dominating party dressing, celebrities have been circling back to thin-strap stilettos as a cleaner evening option, especially in gold and silver finishes that add polish without taking over the full look. Graham’s Gianvito Rossi pair also fit into her own recent run of precise, high-glam heels. In February, she wore crystal ball-heel slingbacks after a stretch of pointed satin pairs, including burgundy satin slingbacks with a bow-trimmed vamp for daytime appearances in New York.

The sandal choice also landed inside a bigger footwear year for Graham. In March, she returned as a global ambassador for Stuart Weitzman’s spring 2026 “Concrete Paradise” campaign, appearing in new-season styles from the brand’s expanded Vinnie Sculptural Collection after making her ambassador debut for the label in fall 2025.
The NoMad appearance came two days before the 2026 Met Gala, where Graham is set to help lead the official red carpet livestream alongside La La Anthony and Cara Delevingne, with Emma Chamberlain returning as red carpet correspondent.
