The 2024 Dodge Charger EV is probably one of the most anticipated cars coming to market this year. If a leaked screenshot turns out to be accurate however, the Charger is going to be expensive.
Mopar Insiders reports that via Youtuber Butter da Insider, we may know just how much the Charger will cost. A leaked screenshot shows pricing for two configurations of the Charger, both dubbed First Edition.
They’ll come preconfigured with equipment and options and apparently, buyers will have to use Dodge’s Horsepower Locator site to find them just as they did with the final editions of the previous generation.
The first will be the Charger R/T with a $68,570 MSRP. Mopar Insider details the standard equipment.
- Direct Connection eStage 1 Upgrade: Adds 40 horsepower, bringing the total to 496 horsepower.
- Plus Group: Includes leather performance seats, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, interior ambient lighting, a 16-inch gauge cluster, premium LED headlamps with a cross-car LED DRL signature light, and illuminated door handles.
- Sun & Sound Group: Features a fixed and tinted full glass roof and an Alpine PRO® 18-speaker premium sound system with a subwoofer and 914-watt amp.
- Blacktop Appearance Package: Adds dark 20-inch x 9-inch aluminum wheels, 255/45R20 A/S tires, and dark R/T fender badges.
The more expensive of the two is the Charger Daytona Scat Pack. That one has an MSRP of $82,170. And as Mopar Insiders detailed, it’s even more loaded and more powerful than the Charger R/T.
- Direct Connection eStage 2 Upgrade: Adds 80 horsepower, bringing the total to 670 horsepower.
- Track Pack: Includes red Brembo® 6-piston fixed front rotors, 305/35R20 A/S tires in the front and 325/35R20 A/S tires in the rear, high back leather/suede performance seats, and a drive experience recorder with a forward camera and USB data output.
- Plus Group: Includes ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, interior ambient lighting, a heads-up display (HUD), premium LED headlamps with a cross-car LED DRL signature light, and illuminated door handles.
- Sun & Sound Group: Features a fixed and tinted full glass roof and an Alpine PRO® 18-speaker premium sound system with a subwoofer and 914-watt amp.
- Carbon & Suede Package: Adds dark 20-inch x 11-inch aluminum wheels, carbon fiber mirror caps, a dark bee fender badge, a carbon fiber center console, carbon fiber I/P and door inlay, a suede I/P mid-bolster, and a suede headliner and A-pillar.
To put these prices into perspective, a 2023 Dodge charger R/T had an MSRP of $45,065, making the new Charger R/T EV Launch Edition $23,505 more than the previous model. There’s an even wider pricing gap between the 2023 Charger Scat Pack and the 2024 Charger Daytona Scat Pack. The 2023 model’s $51,925 starting MSRP means the ‘24 Scat Pack is $30,245 more than the previous model.
These unverified prices would be a big ask for a brand venturing into uncharted waters. The specs and range — Mopar Insiders says the R/T will have 317 miles of range and the Scat Pack will get 260 miles — are competitive, but will buyers show up? We’ll have to wait and see if this all pans out for Dodge later this year.
