Your Skin Seen Acquired by SNR Capital

Thirteen Lune is under new ownership.

The inclusive retail platform founded by Nyakio Grieco and Patrick Herning in 2020 has been acquired by SNR Capital, which funnels brands into the PCA Companies.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. WWD reported in September that Thirteen Lune was exploring deal options of varying size and structure.

As part of the integration, Thirteen Lune has restructured. Grieco has become the company’s chief executive officer, and Herning has exited the business. SNR Capital’s principals are Conor Riley and Piyush Golia, the latter of whom serves as the PCA Companies’ CEO and acquired the U.S. wholesale division of Space NK earlier this year.

“After a difficult year for many companies, it became clear we needed to restructure Thirteen Lune so that we could set it on the path for success,” Grieco said. “As a fast-growing company that had a meteoric rise over the first four years, it became difficult to keep up with the demands of the market, and this helps us to continue our mission. It helps us to continue our mission of amplifying diverse founders and building a global business strategy, working with my new partners.”

Thirteen Lune currently has a flagship in Los Angeles, its own brand of makeup, skin care and fragrance called Relevant: Your Skin Seen, and hundreds of shops-in-shop with JCPenney nationally.

Though they have similar-sized wholesale footprints, the U.S. wholesale division of Space NK had partnerships across Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Hudson’s Bay and Walmart.

“After the PCA Group’s acquisition of Space NK operations in the United States as well as its own shops-in-shop, we are uniquely positioned to grow this unique retailer model and looking forward to helping Thirteen Lune expand,” Golia said via email.

“The expansion into the global market is a priority, as well as domestically,” Grieco said. “And the same goes for Relevant, which will announce domestic retail partnerships in 2025.”

Among Thirteen Lune’s stocked brands are Pattern Beauty, Ami Colé, RMS Beauty and Golf le Fleur, among others.

“Thirteen Lune launched at a pivotal time for beauty, when curated beauty selection was so important. It was also a flashpoint for Black- and Brown-founded beauty brands,” Riley said. “There’s such an underserved community here and internationally. When we saw that there was an opportunity to provide the support the company needed after a restructuring, it was exciting for us to jump in.”

SNR also has Nailtopia, Arches & Halos and Luxie Beauty in its current portfolio. “There are a few other transactions we’re working to close this year and in the first quarter,” Riley said. “We’re pretty active and actively looking for deals.”
