It’s been almost two years since Ken Block tragically passed away in a snowmobile accident. The 55-year-old was the co-founder of DC Shoes and Hoonigan Industries, as well as the star of the Gymkhana video series. Block also competed as a rally driver, and now, this Vermont SportsCar-converted 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI that both he and Travis Pastrana drove from 2007 to 2008 is for sale on Cars & Bids. Oh, and did I mention that it’s street legal, at least in the state of Maine? Yeah, exactly.
That means, as long as you have enough money to spend, you can own an actual rally car that Ken Block took racing, and you should be able to drive it around once it’s delivered. Whether or not you’ll enjoy driving it on public roads still remains to be seen, though, because, well, we’re talking about a race car here. It’s not meant for long road trips where you can expect quiet and comfort. One look at the roll cage and those Sparco seats will tell you that much. On the other hand, maybe you’re brave enough to handle it.
Unfortunately for those of us browsing at home, the seller doesn’t have a recent dyno sheet, so there’s no telling exactly how much power this car makes, but odds are, it’s more than enough. The list of modifications is far too long to list here but does include a MoTec ECU, a 34 mm turbocharger restrictor, launch control and anti-lag, a custom exhaust, 15-inch Speedline Corse wheels, an Öhlins coilover suspension with external reservoirs, AP Racing Group N gravel kit brakes, Kevlar underbody protection panels, a fire supression system and more.
If you’re worried you don’t have the skills to drive this car the way it was meant to be driven, don’t worry. The winning bidder will get a free day at DirtFish’s rally school in Washington. Additionally, the seller will also donate five percent of the proceeds to the 43 Institute, Block’s charity. At the time of writing, there are still six days left on the auction, and bidding is already up to $75,000, which certainly isn’t cheap. Then again, how many chances do you get to buy a rally car that Ken Block actually competed in?
