Xavier Legette went to his first NHL game, and the video is exactly as delightful as you’d imagine

You don’t exactly get a lot of opportunities to see NHL hockey when you grow up in Mullins, South Carolina (population 3,885) — but Xavier Legette had a chance to be front-and-center now that he’s in the NFL

The Carolina Panthers’ receiver was on the glass for Game 5 between the Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes. Not only that. but he was mic’d up to for the experience and it was absolutely incredible.

Legette’s experience was a mix of child-like wonder, endless joy, and a healthy sprinkling of terror as he had no idea the puck would hit the glass in front of him. He was absolutely in awe of players hitting each other, and had no idea the game was so physical. At one point he compared Canes forward William Carrier to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for some reason, but it all made sense to him.

We as a society need Legette to become a superstar in the NFL. We need him to become such a household name that instead of him just going to a hockey game in Raleigh he’s in Monaco for the F1. We need him in Paris reviewing a three-star Michelin restaurant. I want him herding yak in Nepal.

Basically I just want more Xavier Legette everything in my life.
