Xavier Legette start or sit: Week 12 fantasy football advice

Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season rolls on and the action will wrap up on Monday night with a showdown of two teams in the NFC playoff hunt as the Carolina Panthers visit the San Francisco 49ers at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The Panthers scored a 30-27 overtime victory over the Falcons last Sunday and now sit just a half game behind the Buccaneers for first place in the NFC South. Wife receiver Xavier Legette made his mark for the team in the win and be a valuable piece of the team’s postseason push down the stretch.

Below, we’ll go over Legette’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 12.

Fantasy Football analysis: Panthers WR Xavier Legette

Legette stepped up huge in the Panthers’ overtime victory over the Falcons last Sunday, hauling in four receptions for 83 yards and a critical third-quarter touchdown in the victory. It was the second-most productive game of the season for the second-year South Carolina product and that was good enough for him to finish as a top-10 fantasy wideout for Week 11.

This came just a week after he was a virtual ghost in their loss to the Saints and he’s shown flashes of being a proper No. 2 option opposite of Tetairoa McMillan at a few junctures throughout the year. The Panthers have inserted themselves into the thick of the NFC playoff picture and the momentum that they have right now could be a good thing for skill position players like Legette moving forward.

Start. The 49ers have given up the second-most passing yards in the league heading into Week 12 and opposing WR2’s are averaging 55.2 receiving yards per game against them. Legette has yet to put together noteworthy fantasy performances in back-to-back games this season and there’s a chance for him to buck that trend on Monday night. I’d give him a shot in a Flex spot.
