PEAK FASHION: Giovanni Giannoni, the longtime WWD photographer who has covered runway shows at international fashion weeks for more than 30 years, is staging an exhibition in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
Inside the spaces of Studio Exhibita in the tony winter resort destination, Giannoni will mount “Fashion Snow,” a display of 32 images he has captured during fashion weeks in Milan, Paris, New York and London.

The exhibition runs Dec. 6 to Jan. 6, opening in tandem with the Cortina Fashion Weekend, a four-day run of fashion activations organized by the local association “Cortina for Us” and ahead of the Winter Olympics, which will be held at the ski resort and in Milan.
The photographs selected for the exhibition include several pictures Giannoni took at runway shows with mountain-inspired sets, such as the Tommy Hilfiger fall 2014, Thom Browne fall 2020 and Dsquared2 fall 2011 presentations. Other images lean on mountain-appropriate gear, such as the fuzzy outfits on male models captured at the Chanel fall 2010 show or the show-stopping fur paraded on the Dior couture fall 1999 catwalk.

Other brands featured in the exhibit include Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Emporio Armani, Moncler and Dolce & Gabbana, among others.
A second room in the exhibition space spotlights behind-the-scenes images shot by Giannoni at shows from Calvin Klein and Celine to Emilio Pucci and Givenchy, flanked by memorabilia such as proofs, show invitations, vintage cameras and diapositives.
