WorkJam Enhances Workforce Management with Chatbot and Live Streaming

WorkJam has added two new features to its platform: an AI chatbot and a “Live Streaming” video tool — both designed to enhance communication and streamline operations as well as  “empower businesses and their frontline teams,” the company said, adding that the updates further solidify WorkJam’s “position as a leader in frontline workforce management tools.”

The new features are designed to make it easier for retailers and brands to engage, train and support workers in real time while also improving efficiency and productivity across operations.

Steven Kramer, chief executive officer of WorkJam, said the company’s mission “has always been to empower frontline employees and drive productivity gains and make their work lives easier. With the AI chatbot and live video streaming feature, we’re introducing tools that feel familiar to many frontline workers because they use similar technology in their everyday lives.”

The added features follows a new one that was released early last week, called “Shift Bidding,” which is designed to make scheduling in unionized workplaces and other, similarly complex environments simpler and fairer. “This update ensures schedules meet union agreements and comply with relevant regulations while giving employees more say over their work hours,” the company said in a statement.

Kramer said Shift Bidding “changes the game for businesses navigating the complexities of unionized teams and other complicated workplace environments. Managers often worry about filling open shifts, which can leave businesses short-staffed. Our new feature removes the guesswork by aligning schedules with union rules and letting employees rank their shift preferences. It’s a win for everyone — employees get more control, and businesses get better staffing, compliance, and smoother operations.”

Kramer said the AI chatbot and “Live Streaming” features “raise the bar for workforce management, enabling businesses to connect with and support their teams in real-time. Designed to improve day-to-day operations and foster a sense of belonging and empowerment, these features ultimately make a meaningful difference for businesses and frontline employees alike.” He also said WorkJam’s focus is to continue providing AI-driven personalized, ethical and compliant tools, which makes the platform a major differentiator in the market.

The company said its AI chatbot is designed to improve how workers access and search for information via an intelligent, “conversational discovery” experience. The company said the AI chatbot acts as a centralized hub and connects all sources of information, which it said reduces manager burdens while serving as a resource for frontline employees. For workers, the chatbot helps save time “by enabling them to quickly locate answers, training materials, and policies instead of navigating complex interfaces or waiting for manager assistance.”

With the Live Streaming feature, the purpose is to bring real-time video broadcasts directly to the platform, thereby evolving how businesses connect with frontline workers. “It enables instant delivery of company updates, training sessions, and crisis instructions, ensuring all employees, no matter where they are, stay informed and aligned,” the company said, adding that leaders can also use live video “to host interactive Q&A sessions and celebrate team milestones, fostering stronger connections and a sense of inclusion across the workforce.”

For employees, the new feature offers live training and visual demonstration capabilities “that simplify complex tasks, along with real-time guidance from managers or experts to improve performance and resolve issues quickly,” WorkJam said.
