Willy Chavarria Reveals First In-House Shoe Collection at Paris Show

Willy Chavarria’s first in-house footwear collection is here after years of collaborations with the likes of Allen Edmonds, Adidas, K-Swiss and others.

Spanning both women’s and men’s styles, the designer revealed the shoe range as part of his fall/winter 2026 collection runway show during Paris men’s fashion week on Friday.

Standout women’s styles include the Furia, which are 3D-molded heels that appear to wrap around the toes, and the Pepa, a classic pump offered in various shearling treatments. For men, the Salon Loafer is a distinctly Chavarria interpretation of a 1970s Cuban-heel loafer, while the Antonio Boot is a slim, refined silhouette finished with a Cuban heel. There’s also a unisex leather slipper on offer.

As for materials, the collection is made mostly with vegetable-tanned leathers and cow aniline linings. The designer noted that no exotic leathers were used in the production of his shoe range.

In an interview with FN ahead of the show, Chavarria noted that for his debut footwear collection he wanted something that felt “very Willy.”

“I wanted the footwear collection to feel very signature in the colors I used, very chic, but also be very commercial,” Chavarria said. “I really want a commercial response to this range. But the rollout will be similar to when I started with bags – going to market in select specialty stores and direct-to-consumer to allow the business to grow naturally.”

The designer added that he is “not trying to force” the growth of his newest category, but wants his footwear to be “very quiet” in its retail debut. “For the first few deliveries I just want the shoes to really complement the whole Willy Chavarria look, and then grow the category’s business slowly and intentionally,” he said.

Chavarria said that he is designing the new shoe collection in house, but is teaming up with APICAPPS, the Portuguese association of leather goods and footwear, for the production of the line. “We have a men’s factory and a women’s factory that we are using in Portugal,” he noted. “And it’s working out well.”

Paulo Goncalves, general director of APICCAPS, told FN separately that working with Chavarria is a “privilege.”

“In our collaboration with Willy we see a disruptive market perspective; a clear, successful strategy that deserves further exploration,” Goncalves said. “The Portuguese footwear industry exports over 90 percent of its production to international markets and regularly collaborates with leading designers and brands worldwide.”

In addition to his own range of shoes, Chavarria also revealed his latest collaborative range with Adidas. The collection, which marks the pair’s fourth season working together, is heavily influenced by soccer. This is a “no brainer” given the arrival of the World Cup this summer, the designer mentioned.

In his preview with FN, Chavarria noted that he and Adidas produced a selection of footwear and apparel for team Mexico for the upcoming World Cup, officially accredited by the Mexican Football Federation and inspired by the iconic football uniforms of the past.

“I’m rebirthing the signature Copa Mundial from Adidas and putting the Megaride sole on it,” Chavarria said. “It’s a total mashup, and they are so comfortable with this particular sole.”

The result is the new Willy Chavarria Megaride Copa sneaker, which will come in a couple of colorways later this year. Another shoe for soccer lovers will be the Willy Chavarria Predator, which sees the designer update Adidas’ popular Predator cleat style. It comes in several colorways and features an exaggerated tongue. And the Willy Chavarria Megaride Bones made a return appearance for fall after being first revealed in the designer’s spring 2026 collection.

Overall, Chavarria is loving how his partnership with Adidas is evolving.

“I love how the relationship has grown over the seasons,” Chavarria said. “We’re not just doing the smaller collab fashion drops anymore, but we are also working on a lot more commercial things. I expect some of what we are offering in this collection to land in a big-time way. We’re offering more amped up, fashion styles, and more accessible commercial styles – it’s all about expanding the breadth of our collaboration. And to tell you the truth, we offer a wide range for a designer collaboration. And the sell-through has been excellent.”
