Across the Internet, including Crocs’ social media, a range of people are pondering how astrology might influence fashion. Whether you’re scrolling TikTok wondering if you really should dress like your rising sign or simply amused by Crocs throwing shade at all 12 signs with correlating clog recommendations, the potential relationship between personal fashion sense and zodiac signs continues to be a point of exploration.
For our astrology-inclined readers, FN interviewed astrologer and author Lisa Stardust, who has contributed to outlets like Teen Vogue and the “Today” show, to chat about what shoes are the perfect fit for each sign — from Capricorns in kitten heels to Leos in colorful wedges.
Capricorn: Kitten heels

L.S.: You like to have the fits that work well with you in the office and at the bar. So you have to be meeting-friendly and bar-friendly for happy hour at the same time. So definitely like a slingback sandal or slingback high heels for Capricorn for this season in general. I like the little classic kitten heel. Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, she was the queen of the kitten heel and she was a Capricorn.
Capricorns do like to wear bold colors, but they like them in classic fits.
Aquarius: Ballerina-style ankle shoes
L.S.: Aquarius rules the calves. So basically, we like to say that something wrapped around their calves, or wrapped to their calves would really make them feel as though they’re kind of connecting to their true selves.
They’re the water bearers, so Aquariuses are supposed to have wings. And I feel like ballet is the closest you’ll get to leaping around town, and the ballet flats are probably going to allow them to embrace two different aesthetics at the same time — something that is really chic and sexy and something that’s really a little bit more demure.
Pisces: Jelly sandals
L.S.: I’m feeling jellies for Pisces, of course, because they’re the fish, and jellies are the ultimate beach shoe. Right now, jellies are having a moment everywhere, from the fisherman style to the slingback to the ones that have the bows on them — that’s definitely Pisces’ vibe, because they are the ultimate water sign, and they’re the fishes. So, like little fishies in the sea, the jellies will help them swim and be free.
Aries: Bold sneakers

L.S.: I’m definitely going to have to give them a hot pair of Adidas or even Pumas sneakers. Aries like color. It’s the first sign, it’s the initiator of the zodiac. So we can do yellow Adidas for them, or green Pumas or bright pink shoes. They embrace color — the On Clouds, any athletic sneaker because Aries are the ultimate fire, once again, the initiator of spring. And they like coming out of hibernation, they like to keep it bright because they can see the light for the first time.
Taurus: Mesh shoes
L.S.: I am feeling the mesh shoes that are in with the little embroidery details. I really like the ones at Anthropology, they have the little lemons on them and little strawberries, or even the mesh shoes that have the cherries on them, just because Taurus is ruled by Venus, and they like beautiful things. But they also like to show some skin, so they’re an earth sign that will take it to the next level, and they’re not afraid to go barefoot and really ground themselves with the energy. So that’s as close we can get for a shoe that can be evergreen that aligns with their sign because they always are connecting to Earth.
Gemini: Mismatched shoes
L.S.: Charlotte Stone [is] a footwear company, but what they do is sometimes their shoes are mismatched per foot. We love a good Charlotte Stone pair of shoes for Geminis because Geminis are dualistic, and there are two of them, so even like the sneakers and some of their sandals. Even if Geminis wanted to wear custom-made Converse and make each one a different color, or have different intricate details. That’s a very Gemini thing — both shoes are a little bit different.
Cancer: Classic mary janes

L.S.: Mary janes is perfect for Cancers, because it’s sort of in between. You can wear them at any age, and because Cancers are always changing their emotions, mary janes go with everything. So they’ll have a pair of shoes that is more stable for any fit that they’re wearing. So they can change their clothing with their moods.
Leo: Vibrant Wedges
L.S.: Leos go big or go home. Leos love a big wedge in a bright color or print. And the reason being is because Leos like to be seen. They love to make a big fashion statement, and they like to blend color, once again, a fire sign so they kind of love to play around with colors and mismatched prints. I saw wedges right now are having a moment in leopard print, and zebra print, or even a wedge in a bright purple would be something that a Leo would definitely rock with other colors.
Virgo: Puffy sandals
L.S.: The Rome Foldy Puffy sandals, and they come in a bunch of different colors. [Virgos] like to have fun with their footwear, just because Virgos are always running from place. And they also do have a more cheeky sense of style than a lot of people give them credit for just because they are ruled by Mercury, so they love to experiment.
Libra: Square-toe shoes

L.S.: Libra is definitely square-toe shoes, square toe sandals, high heels or even square-toe Oxfords, just because Libras, they always believe in having the same aesthetic, and they always like monotone so a simple pair of square-toed shoes to match their outfit in the same color is exactly what they would like. Or they do like to do this thing where with pink you wear red shoes, or with the light blue outfit, they’ll wear bright blue shoes — they like that contrast as well because they are the scale. So they like to keep things juxtaposed perfectly in the same color group.
Scorpio
L.S.: Scorpios, believe it or not, they love Birkenstocks, but in bright colors, different colors. They’re really comfortable, they’re really stylish. And it also goes with their kind of vintage, like hippie aesthetic as well as when they want to wear their Goth colors, you can rock a pair of Birkenstocks with that. And the thing about Scorpios is because that they are very active, it’s a very hyperactive water sign — and they have their stingers, so we need something that will cushion them and give them a sense of relaxation, so they don’t use their stingers on people.
Sagittarius

L.S.: I’m going to say anything with fringes, from high heel shoes to sandals to cowboy boots, they like fringe as the adventurous fireside who’s always traveling, the fringes are like the wind in their hair as they’re traveling from location to location. And also, Sagittariuses love to have fun with fashion and clothing.
