Welcome to Week 10 of the fantasy football season. Hopefully your fake teams are within striking distance of a playoff spot and the upcoming byes are navigable. Week 9 had some strong running backs, as Saquon Barkley, De’Von Achane, Alvin Kamara and Derrick Henry all lived up to their fantasy draft spots here just past midway through the fantasy season.
Those four names are all players we may have skipped using a Zero RB draft strategy and the list of top running backs versus top wide receivers this season favors the backs. There’s little doubt that if this trend continues, 2025 fantasy football drafts will be high on running backs. This game is always a shuffling of expectations based on fluid information. Continue to zig when they zag!
Week 10 running back bye weeks
Nick Chubb, Josh Jacobs, Alexander Mattison, Zamir White, Ken Walker, Zach Charbonnet
Week 10 running back injuries
Christian McCaffrey, 49ers
McCaffrey has been designated to return from his Achilles injury and all reports are optimistic he’ll play this weekend. As long as he’s active, he’ll be a must-start against the Bills in his first game back.
Jonathon Brooks, Panthers
The Panthers sure have slow rolled Brooks’ return, but all signs point to him being activated from I.R. to play this week against the Giants in Munich, Germany. The fact they’ve gone so slow with his return makes it seem plausible they’d go slow with his in-game usage as well. I’d probably sit him if possible this week/ If he doesn’t get activated, his season is over, so hopefully will.
Brian Robinson, Commanders
Robinson missed last week with a hamstring injury. He was able to get in limited practices last week, but in the end he wasn’t 100%. The odds of him returning to play the Steelers this week seem good, but we’ll need to wait to see.
Zack Moss, Bengals
Moss has been put on IR with a neck injury. That news pushed the Bengals to make a trade with the Bears for Khalil Herbert. Chase Brown will keep the lead role, while Herbert will work to skim some touches off of Brown as the season continues.
Week 10 running back sleepers
Tyrone Tracy, Giants vs. Panthers
Tracy has looked great this season. He beat out Devin Singletary as the lead back and has not looked back. This week he’ll face a Panthers run defense that has allowed the most rushing yards and rushing touchdowns this season.
Najee Harris, Steelers vs. Commanders
Harris has played well this season, especially of late with three straight 100+ yardage games, which also include his first two touchdowns of the season. The Commanders have allowed the second-worst yards per carry at 5.1 yards and rank 28th in run defense EPA.
Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots vs. Bears
The Bears weakness on defense is against the run, as they rank 20th in run defense EPA and first against the pass. Stevenson’s efficiency has been awful the last couple games, but he continues to find the end zone with four touchdowns in the last two games, including a receiving touchdown. His usage remains good despite the low yards per carry and the Bears aren’t a team you have to avoid on the ground.
