Paramore leader Hayley Williams dropped 17 new songs last week, and, now, one of those tracks has gotten its own music video. Directed by Zachary Gray, the visual follows Williams around Nashville—her longtime hometown—as she dips into bachelorette tourist traps, dances by Representative Justin Jones, and sings karaoke while looking downcast. Watch it below.
Williams wrote, performed, and recorded all 17 of her new songs—which remain standalone tracks, not an album—with production by Daniel James. Additional contributions come from Brian Robert Jones and Joey Howard, while Jim-E Stack helped work on “True Believer.” One of the songs, “Mirtazapine,” was previously debuted on Nashville public radio station WNXP a few weeks ago, and Williams performed it live during Bleachers’ set at Newport Folk Festival in July.
Back in 2020, Williams released her debut solo album, Petals for Armor, as well as the three-track Petals for Armor: Self-Serenades EP. That following year, she dropped Flowers for Vases / Descansos, which she described as “a prequel, or some sort of detour between parts 1 and 2 of Petals.” As for Paramore, they released their fifth studio album, This Is Why, in 2023.
