Victor Wembanyama’s double block into logo 3 is a play only he can make

Victor Wembanyama looks like he’s taking a leap as he starts his third season, and the rest of the NBA should be terrified. The 21-year-old superstar had an opening night for the ages as he dominated his showdown with Cooper Flagg, and then he out-dueled Zion Williamson and the Pelicans in his second game. In his third game, Wembanyama destroyed the Brooklyn Nets on both ends of the floor, including a ridiculous two-way sequence that only he could pull off.

At the end of the second quarter, Wembanyama took over defensively by swatting a shot from Noah Clowney, then rejecting another shot by Terance Mann a second later. The Spurs pushed the ball down the floor to an open Wembanyama, who ripped a three-point from the end of the center court logo in San Antonio. Watch Wemby’s two-way brilliance here:

Wembanyama has been an absolute monster scoring at the rim so far this season as a 7’5 center with an 8-foot wingspan. He’s also a very willing and able shooter from behind the three-point line, and this shot proves that he’s basically in range as soon as he crosses halfcourt.

Wembanyama ended with 31 points, 14 rebounds, six blocks, four assists, and three steals. He made 3-of-6 shots from deep, none prettier than the one above. Rookie No. 2 pick Dylan Harper also added 20 points in the win. The Spurs are 3-0. Wembanyama isn’t just “arriving,” — he’s already here.
