NEW FACE: Sombr has a new gig as a brand ambassador for Valentino, and the appointment will be revealed Friday, the day of the debut of his latest single, “Homewrecker.”
The singer, songwriter and producer has worn the Rome-based fashion brand on several occasions, most recently at the Grammy Awards on Sunday when he was nominated and performed in two custom looks.
Previously, for example, he wore Valentino at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York last September, on “Saturday Night Live” in November, and at the Spilt Milk Festival in Perth a month later.
“I love fashion and I have the deepest respect both for the vision of Alessandro Michele and the legacy of the great Valentino Garavani,” Sombr enthused. “This legendary and forward-thinking fashion house has inspired me with their incredible collections and custom designs.”
In a statement, Valentino said “this ambassadorship continues the maison’s ongoing dialogue with individuals who shape contemporary culture. In his work and public presence, Sombr explores the concepts of individuality, confidence, and contemporaneity through an intuitive approach to style that goes beyond trends.”

Describing Sombr as “a defining voice of his generation,” Valentino concluded by stating that the artist “has developed a distinctive personal style alongside a growing international career, and has consistently worn Maison Valentino on various occasions, reflecting a genuine connection with the house’s aesthetic.”
The New York City native has risen to fame with hits “Back to Friends,” “Undressed” and “12 to 12,” and his critically acclaimed debut album, “I Barely Know Her,” has remained firmly in the Spotify Global top 10. Named one of Billboard’s 21 under 21, he will begin the European leg of his sold-out “Late Nights and Young Romance” tour on Feb. 10.
Sombr joins Valentino brand ambassadors Colman Domingo; Dakota Johnson; Freen Sarocha; Jeff Satur; Liz and Rei of K-pop group Ive; Clairo; Jolin Cai; Yang Zi; Sun Li; Lareina Song; Alessandro Borghi, and Lorenzo Zurzolo.
