Unrivaled’s player lineup includes 22 new WNBA players — what stands out?

Unrivaled is just a few months removed from another season — and this time, 48 WNBA players will be lacing up for the professional 3-on-3 basketball co-founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart.

In addition to the 48 rostered players, 6 players will participate in a development pool, though their names have yet to be announced.

The new additions include several established and rising stars, among them being:

At the same time, Unrivaled has lost several big names from its inaugural season, including New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese.

In total, 26 players return from the inaugural season:

And, 22 WNBA players serve as new additions:

In addition to Reese and Ionescu, who have opted not to play in Year 2 of Unrivaled, several players are sidelined with injuries ahead of the coming season.

That list includes Minnesota Lynx guard DiJonai Carrington (foot surgery), Chicago Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot (torn ACL), and Seattle Storm forward Katie Lou Samuelson (torn ACL), among others.

Unrivaled is adding 4 new head coaches

Ahead of its second season, Unrivaled has expanded from 6 to 8 clubs. The league has lost two head coaches (Adam Harrington and Phil Handy) while bringing in four new faces.
