Belgian software developer Unifly, a global leader in Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM) technology, recently announced its successful acquisition of EuroUSC Italia, a leading advisory firm renowned for its expertise in drone regulation, safety, and pre-operational approvals across Europe.
This acquisition is designed to create a pipeline aiding the adoption of new critical digital infrastructure, going from defining the rules to enforcing them. Unifly and EuroUSC Italia now offer a full range of services (from regulatory design to real-time airspace management) to support public and private operators.
According to Unifly’s ess release, EuroUSC Italia will continue to operate with full independence and objectivity and will continue as an impartial advisor to clients. The shared vision for the partnership is to empower both companies to scale their impact by expanding service coverage beyond Italy and delivering enhanced SORA support through AI-powered digital workflows.
Marco Ducci, CEO of EuroUSC Italia, said, “Regulation is one of the biggest barriers to drone operations at scale, and EuroUSC Italia has spent over a decade helping the ecosystem overcome it. Together, we’re removing friction from the system and enabling faster, safer deployment of drone technologies through the integration of UTM and pre-operational services and technology.”
Andres Van Swalm, Unifly’s CEO, said, “This acquisition allows us to amplify our global reach without compromising our core values of impartiality and regulatory excellence. We are excited to extend our services across Europe and beyond, while enhancing our SAMWISE platform to deliver AI-powered digital workflows for SORA support and other mission-critical applications.”
As technology companies continue to try and work with public regulators to build infrastructure, partnerships between consultants and the drone industry will no doubt continue to deepen to aid adoption and provide key services, allowing for the continued scaling of the glfobal drone market.
