The “Chapel Bill” Era has gotten off to a brutal start for North Carolina. While Bill Belichick arrived as the school’s newest head football coach to much fanfare, the Tar Heels limped out of the gate and are on the verge of dropping to 2-3, as they are being throttled at home by a 1-3 Clemson team with the score 38-3 in the fourth quarter.
And one UNC student summed up the situation in brutal fashion.
As the broadcast went to a break at the end of the first quarter — with Clemson already out to a 28-3 lead — the ESPN broadcast played this clip from an interview with Anna Yi:
Referencing the season-opening loss to TCU, the UNC student had this to say: “TCU was … I went to that game and that was one of the saddest feelings I’ve had in university so far. I’ve failed midterms before so it’s saying something.”
The broadcast played the clip again later in the contest (with Clemson now leading 35-3) and it turned into a deeper discussion of UNC football:
If there is a better way to summarize the Belichick Era in Chapel Hill thus far, we have not seen it.
