Tyla opted for a vintage vibe in a Chanel minidress for the MTV Video Music Awards 2025 on Sunday in New York City.
The Grammy Award-winning singer, who was nominated for Best Choreography and Best Afrobeats song at the 2025 MTV VMAs, wore a look that came from the French luxury fashion house’s spring 1993 ready-to-wear collection. The late Karl Lagerfeld served as Chanel’s creative director at the time. Modeled originally as a sleeveless top on the runway, Tyla opted to make the piece a minidress, adding a gold waist chain.

The Chanel look featured a black and cream color palette, with black trimmed pockets at the hips as well as a black neckline. Tyla accessorized her look by layering necklace pieces, bracelets and earrings from the Pandora Talisman collection.
The singer starred in the campaign for Pandora Talisman, which debuted in August. “Tyla is bold, authentic and unapologetically herself — which aligns so naturally with the spirit of the Talisman collection,” Berta de Pablos-Barbier, Pandora’s chief marketing officer, told WWD via email.

“This campaign is all about self-expression and choosing the words and symbols that define who you are, and Tyla brings that to life in such a powerful, modern way,” de Pablos-Barbier said.
The Pandora Talisman collection marked a departure from the Danish jewelry manufacturer and retailer’s traditional design codes, favoring an experimental curation of ancient coin-inspired necklaces and bracelets with Latin inscriptions. Tyla joined Pandora as a brand ambassador in April, starring in a campaign spotlighting a charm collection personally curated by the singer.
