Tropicana Field roof torn as Hurricane Milton ramages

As Hurricane Milton bore down on the west coast of Florida, the cities of Tampa and St. Petersburg was in the massive storm’s sights. As the storm made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane, the damage done to the west coast of Florida was endless. More than three million people without power on top of damage done to major parts of the coast.

Tropicana Field was one of those major areas. The home of MLB’s Tampa Bay Rans was designated as a place where first responders could bring people, but the field was ravaged by the hurricane, tearing the roof tarp off the stadium.

As the storm left the area on Thursday morning, a clearer look was given of the damage Hurricane Milton did to the Rays’ stadium.

The Rays have not issued a statement on the destruction of the roof. Hurricane Milton is moving away from Florida as of Thursday, but wind can still be felt from the powerful gusts. Everyone who lives on the east coast of Florida, stay safe.
