Travis Hunter Jr. dazzles on this stunning catch against Chiefs

During his run to the Heisman Trophy last year, Travis Hunter Jr. starred on both sides of the ball at Colorado. In particular, Hunter’s ball skills helped him make plays all over the field.

Those ball skills showed up in a huge way against the Kansas City Chiefs, in Hunter’s Monday Night Football debut.

After the Jacksonville Jaguars forced a Chiefs’ punt to start the third quarter, the home team took over possession on their own 13-yard line. Two plays later, and after a run from Travis Etienne Jr. gave the Jaguars a fresh set of downs, Jacksonville faced a 1st-and-10 situation at their own 28-yard line.

That’s when those ball skills from Hunter showed up:

Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence dropped to throw, but faced some pressure in the pocket off the edges. After evading the pressure, Lawrence uncorked a throw downfield to Hunter, who was running a deep crossing route.

Hunter worked back to the football, leaping over a pair of Chiefs defenders to secure the 44-yard reception.

Here is another look at the stunning catch from the rookie:

If you feel like you have seen this catch before from Hunter, you might be thinking of last year’s game between Colorado and Utah:

Not too bad for a rookie.
