This White Van Man Keeps London’s Street-Parked Supercars Clean

For most of us, cleaning our cars involves heading out onto the street with a bucket of water and a sponge to scrub away the dirt and grime that builds up over time. For millionaires, it involves paying someone else to do that for you, and this white van man has carved out a niche cleaning some incredible cars parked on the streets of London.

The British capital is a weird place for car fans, one minute you can be excitedly pointing out a clapped out Suzuki Jimny and the next you’ll have stumbled across a street-parked Bugatti Chiron.

Keeping those street-parked hypercars in pristine condition is no small task, though, and one online creator has begun documenting their work cleaning the cars for London’s super-rich. The page in question is the Tino Car Care YouTube channel, which follows a roving car cleaner as they travel London’s streets polishing up everything from Rolls-Royces and rare Aston Martins to Lamborghinis, Porsches and the odd Mustang Mach-E.

The videos are much like every other car cleaning clip you’ll find online, in that they all pack in satisfying washes, ridiculous foaming sprays and detail work that you or I may never think of. But the channel is set apart as many of these six-figure cars are just parked up on public roads while getting a dash of TLC.

In each clip, which follows a day on the job for Tino Car Care, the team loads up their unsuspecting white van with everything they need for a day on the town. Inside the van, is all the equipment you’d dream of having to keep your car looking factory fresh, including pressure washers, cleaning cloths and humble buckets ready to be filled with all kinds of lotions and potions.

In a recent upload, Tino starts the day with an Aston Martin Speedster – the roof-less rarity inspired by the DBR1. The cleaning process begins with a thorough wash down, before soap is carefully sprayed over the bodywork while the exposed interior is kept clear.

The exterior is then rinsed down, before being scrubbed all over with soapy sponges to loosen any stubborn dirt or marks that remain. The jet wash comes out to rinse this off and the car is dried down, with a leaf blower even being called on to push any hidden water out of things like the door handles and mirrors.

For the interior, mats are taken out and washed down, before a humble hoover scours out the dirt and grime that may be lurking inside the car. The rest of the interior is wiped down, the engine is inspected and a paper air freshener is hung on the rearview mirror before everything is loaded back into the van in order to head out to the next rare car in need of some TLC.

The process is just as satisfying as this deep clean of a Porsche found in the woods, but comes with the added jeopardy that a rogue pigeon may poop on the car at any moment.
