Racing video games are almost always made better with the addition of high-quality racing sims, which begs a question: What other automotive games are improved by adding realism to the player interactions? It sure looks like World of Tanks makes that list, but only if you’re truly willing to endure life in an actual tank — or at least a fully drivable, driftable, smoke-spewing simulacrum.
YouTuber 马鹿Blyat is known for creating absurdly over-the-top gaming sims, making everything from an anti-air gun simulator to a mouse with recoil to a boxing rig that punches back, and they seem to have a particular love for online tank combat game World of Tanks. This is their fourth tank simulator, although there seems to be no video for the first, and it’s by far the most in-depth. Most game sims aren’t also a fully drivable vehicle.
马鹿Blyat, which seems to translate to “red deer fuck” in a mix of Chinese and Russian that may be a Counter-Strike reference, managed to put the whole tank sim together with a bit of help from World of Tanks itself. The build is sponsored (the first such video openly declared as such on the channel), though it continues the trend of not really showing how any of the creations are made. You just get the end result, and what a result it is.
This sim is maybe a bit big for the average gamer, but it’s a testament to what you can do with a little ingenuity and sponsor money. The only place to go from here would be to build an actual, functional tank — and not one of those gussied-up pretenders.
