Normally I’m not one to prescribe to the Travel Truther lifestyle, but what Giannis did on Tuesday night was beyond the pale. My man didn’t just travel, he walked across the country with a gather that began at the three point line, and continued for five steps before taking a shot.
This was a no-call, because of course it what. Rules are just loose suggestions at this point in a lot of sports. Look, I’m okay with the occasional minor travel if it’s equal on both sides, and it helps the flow of the game. Nobody wants basketball to be stop-and-go all the time, even if something is technically against the letter of the law — like pass interference in football. However, when you’re so blatantly traveling something’s got to be done.
The Bucks went on to beat the Knicks 121-111. Giannis finished with 37 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists — and one travel from one zip code to another.
