These Are The Cars With The Longest Names

The legends of the sky deserve to be praised for their bravery, and Bugatti did that by putting this ugly “hand sketched” logo on the fender of its multi-million dollar speed demon.

Make fun all you want, but this was one of the coolest little sleeper packages ever offered from the factory, and it cleaned house in SCCA racing. This little guy is a ripper.

The new Number 1 Edition has been inspired by the original No. 1 Blower, which set the Outer Circuit record at the Brooklands racetrack, Surrey, in 1932. Driven by Bentley Boy Tim Birkin, the 4 ½-Litre car averaged 137 mph – a record that stood for a further two years and has since become a symbol of Bentley’s racing heritage.

I don’t really have anything to add to this one. Long ass name.

Possibly the coolest car on this list, and the cool is actually added to with each additional letter in its name.

This would have been longer if Nissan had used the Nürburgring Nordschleife’s full name.

There are so many weird and rare Japanese cars from the 1980s and 1990s that could have been slotted in here instead of this one, but I like the Aero Deck best, so here it is.

Porsche’s 356 America Roadster is one of the coolest cars in its history. Back in 1953 Max Hoffman convinced Porsche to build a limited number of stripped down lightweights with more power for racing purposes. Porsche says that original Rennsport model inspired the full-fat GTS America, but I’m not buying it.

This is a fascinating car, as it is perhaps the earliest example of a hybrid. Built in the teens, the Owen Magnetic was an ultra-high-end touring machine that used an electric motor as its “infinitely variable” automatic transmission. Under the long hood was a big gasoline-powered six-cylinder engine, which turned a big magnet, and generated electricity for the electric motor to use to power the rear wheels.

Lido Anthony Iacocca deserves the world, because he brought us the Mustang in the first place. Smart guy!

Japan just has a knack for naming.

Leave it to the Italians to stretch something really simple into a big long name. And tack on some extra bits and call it rare so the millionaires would buy more.

There are a ton of cars from the pre-war era which would fit this long-name trend. I just liked the way this one sounded, so I added it to the list. Worblaufen.

Perhaps the most compelling daily-driver Porsche has ever built, the 690-horsepower hybrid family wagon had it all, including a 16-sylable name.

You didn’t think we’d get through this list without the BMW Individual 760Li xDrive Model V12 Excellence THE NEXT 100 YEARS, did you? I remember laughing hysterically at this car when it was launched in 2016. I’m still laughing now. It took me that long to get through the car’s name.
