While Bella Hadid was on a quest to bring back the Ugg boots and leggings styling combo at the end of last year, stars like Timothée Chalamet and Charli XCX kicked off 2026 by pairing the boots with trendy wide-leg pants.

While skinny jeans and leggings are not as popular as they were in the past, Uggs remain a go-to choice for cozy footwear and a staple accessory during the year’s most frigid months.
Chalamet attended a screening and Q&A for his movie “Marty Supreme” at the AMC 34th Street in New York City on Thursday. The actor showcased the movie’s signature orange through his shoes. He opted for the Ugg x Jeremy Scott Classic Short “Flame” style.
The boots feature bright orange and yellow flames around the upper and are decorated with blue-lined flames around the shaft. The footwear brand partnered with Scott to design eight styles for them for fall 2017.
The actor paired his with a pair of loose white cargo pants, featuring a baggy, oversized fit and wide legs. Chalamet styled his pants over the boots, with the hem concealing the shaft, so that only the orange vamp and the outer rubber sole were visible. He warmed up in a black North Face fleece jacket.

While Charli XCX was at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on Jan. 23, she wore the UGG Classic Ultra Mini paired with a plush oversized red and blue puffer and low-rise jeans while en route to the screening of her film, “The Moment.” She also styled the ultra-wide-leg dark-wash jeans over the chestnut-brown boots, giving the staple footwear a more modern look.

During an outing in New York City in November, Jennifer Lawrence also wore an oversized puffer jacket and loose-fitting pants, but kept her boots shorter, opting for the Ugg Classic Micro. The “Die My Love” actress wore wide-legged gray pants and paired them with a black puffy coat. The hem of her pants folded over her boots, with only the front of the chestnut-brown shoe exposed. Wearing Uggs with loose-fit denim, sweatpants or baggy pants is a departure from how they were originally styled with the pants tucked into the shaft. Celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Naomi Watts have also been spotted styling their Ugg boots with wide-leg pants, while the pairing has been spotted on the streets of Milan, Paris, New York, Copenhagen and more.
