The Miami Dolphins are in a weird spot going into 2025. After missing the playoffs for the first time in the Mike McDaniel era, the Dolphins have more questions about their roster than answers. Star WR Tyreek Hill might be on his way out, tackle Terron Armstead has flirted with retirement in previous offseasons and multiple core players could be on their way into free agency. With 2025 being seen as a do or die year for the Dolphins, how do they address their needs in the NFL Draft? Here’s how I would rank their needs, complete with players that fit.
1 . Interior offensive line
The Dolphins have been one of the least physical teams up front for the entire Mike McDaniel era. They can’t get any push between the tackles, and it hurts them in short yardage situations and in the playoffs where grinding out yards becomes essential. On top of that, making sure QB Tua Tagovailoa stays upright remains the top priority for Miami.

2. Tight End
Because of how much the Dolphins live in 21 personnel, they either need to find a way to mask TE Jonnu Smith’s limitations as a blocker or add another tight end so they can get into more creative formations. None of the Dolphins’ options in the tight end room are very viable as a blocker, so adding a guy who gives you the best of both worlds could unlock the offense.

3. Cornerback
If Jalen Ramsey is going to continue to play on the outside, finding a second corner opposite him is super important. CB Cam Smith hasn’t been anywhere near what Miami has expected him to be since drafting him, and CB Kendall Fuller was released earlier in the offseason. Their depth is really lacking on the back end, and it shows up the most at cornerback.

4. Wide Receiver
This one is largely based on the future of WR Tyreek Hill, but even if Hill does return, the depth in the Dolphins’ receiver room is really thin. Behind Hill and Waddle (who both share an extensive injury history as well), the room lacks both size and consistency, making it hard for anyone outside of TE Jonnu Smith to really get a hold in the receiving room. If Hill leaves this need jumps up the list, but for now we’ll keep it at 4.
