Teyana Taylor has a lot to talk about. The multihyphenate star recently announced a return to music and is currently promoting her latest role in Tyler Perry’s “Straw,” wearing a pair of Air Jordan 1 sneakers from her own 2023 collaboration with the Jordan Brand.

As usual, Taylor couldn’t help but give a lesson in laid-back style, while wearing a streetwear look that was a bit of a departure from her recent red carpet ensembles. While appearing on “Today With Jenna & Friends” on Wednesday, the singer wore a green bomber jacket with patches — the G-Seto Jacket by Diesel.
She paired the jacket with a pair of oversize parachute cargo pants in military green and topped it off with what appeared to be a custom Yankee fitted cap, which featured red roses and “Harlem” stitched on the back.

Taylor kept it cool with a pair of the red and white Jordan x Teyana Taylor Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 A Rose From Harlem sneakers, which featured an oversize black leather Swoosh with zigzag stitching on one side and a red embroidered Swoosh with thorns around its design on the other.
The Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comfort 2 A Rose From Harlem was the first collaboration by the R&B singer, which offered an updated design of the classic Jordan 1. The name is inspired by her upbringing in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood and the title of her hit 2018 single, “Rose in Harlem.”
The look was quite a contrast from what the “One Battle After Another” star wore later in the day when she attended the 2025 Apollo Spring Benefit held at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. The actress was the recipient of the inaugural Innovator Award at the event. To receive the award, Taylor opted for a striped look from Schiaparelli’s spring 2025 collection.

While she has been wearing various looks from the designer lately, this time, she opted for a draped shirtdress in viscose with ecru and black tones, featuring trompe-l’oeil stripes embellished with hammered gold brass bijoux buttons. She paired the look with bold gold accessories, including circular gold brass earrings and cuff bracelets. She wore the look with a pair of black leather strappy, wedge sandals with a knee-high shaft.
Taylor wore a Schiaparelli blue statement coat at CinemaCon 2025 alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Regina Hall in April, and an all-denim Schiaparelli look set off by a pair of Timberland boots the day after the Met Gala, which she then rewore to the Disney 2025 Upfronts in May.
Taylor plays Detective Kay Raymond in Netflix’s “Straw,” which arrives on the streaming service on Friday. The story follows a single mother named Janiyah Wiltkinson, played by Taraji P. Henson, who navigates a series of unfortunate events in one day, leading her down an unforeseen path where she becomes embroiled in a situation she never envisioned, finding herself at the center of suspicion in an indifferent world.
The singer recently announced that she was returning to music after announcing her retirement in 2020. She will release a visual album, “Escape Room,” in August, making it her first musical project in five years.
