Terra Drone’s Group Company Terra Drone Indonesia Signs MoUs with Two Indonesian Universities to Promote Practical Drone Experience and Employability

Terra Drone Corporation, the leading drone service provider, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Terra Drone Indonesia, has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with two universities in Indonesia—Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi (hereinafter referred to as “Poltek CWE”) and Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma (hereinafter referred to as “Unsurya”)—to promote practical drone training and create employment opportunities in the agricultural sector. The training program will be carried out by Terra Agri, the agricultural division of Terra Drone Indonesia. Through these MoUs, Terra Drone Indonesia will strengthen ties between academic institutions and the drone industry, contributing to the cultivation of skilled human resources and job creation to support the growth of Indonesia’s drone sector.

Background and Purpose of the MoUs

Across Indonesia and other Global South countries, the introduction of drone technology is accelerating, especially in agriculture and infrastructure, driving growing demand for skilled professionals.

Terra Drone Indonesia is partnering with two domestic universities through its in-house training program, Terra Academy, which offers hands-on demonstrations and technical training to students. The program also provides internship and employment opportunities to graduates who complete drone certification training, supporting their career development.

These MoUs aim to leverage each university’s facilities to deliver Terra Academy programs, with the ultimate goal of fostering professionals who can support the practical implementation of drones in agriculture while advancing industrial development. By playing a role as a bridge between academic and industry needs, Terra Drone Indonesia aims to enhance its human capital, further its R&D efforts, and promote both technological innovation and new career pathways.

Program Details

Terra Drone Indonesia has signed MoUs with the following two universities to foster the development of highly skilled professionals in the drone sector.

1  Poltek CWE

Overview:
Poltek CWE is a higher education institution specialized in palm oil agriculture. It maintains a 1.3-hectare training palm plantation, offering a practical environment for drone flight training that is similar to real-world agricultural settings.

Training Content:
Leveraging the Terra Academy curriculum, Poltek CWE delivers hands-on programs tailored to palm plantation operations. Training includes test flights using E16 drones for bagworm pest control and D16 drones for oryctes rhinoceros pest control, enhancing students’ real-world capabilities.

Target Human Resources:
The program aims to develop drone operators who can address challenges faced in palm oil plantations with technical expertise and practical knowledge, creating professionals with both agricultural specialization and drone operation skills.

2 Unsurya 

Overview:
Unsurya is an aviation university affiliated with the Indonesian Air Force. Located near Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in East Jakarta, the campus offers expansive grounds ideal for drone flight training and testing, and serves as a hub for advanced aviation education.

Training Content:
Building on Terra Academy’s curriculum, Terra Drone Indonesia is also engaging in joint research with Unsurya, focusing on sustainable drone solutions and advanced aerospace technologies. This collaboration offers students opportunities to acquire high-level technical skills through academic-industry cooperation.

Target Human Resources:
The partnership aims to expand the talent pipeline, cultivating individuals who can apply their aviation expertise to real-world challenges in agriculture, combining technical and operational knowledge. Graduates from Unsurya are already working and making meaningful contributions at Terra Drone Indonesia.

Future Prospects

Terra Drone Indonesia will continue delivering educational programs in collaboration with local universities to foster skilled professionals and create employment opportunities across Indonesia. In particular, the company remains committed to cultivating next-generation talent that can support the realization of sustainable agricultural practices.
