Taylor Russell Named Dior Brand Ambassador by Jonathan Anderson

TAYLOR MADE: Dior has named Canadian actress and director Taylor Russell as brand ambassador, as creative director Jonathan Anderson prepares to unveil his first haute couture collection for the French fashion house.

The “Bones and All” star is the latest former face of Loewe to follow Anderson to Dior, after Greta Lee, Josh O’Connor and Drew Starkey.

Many of those relationships came out of Anderson’s ongoing creative collaborations with Italian director Luca Guadagnino. Anderson did the costume design for “Challengers” and “Queer,” and has forged close relationships with several of Guadagnino’s stars.

“You become really close to them, and they become part of how your DNA is. So for me, they’re part of my design language, not the brand’s design language,” he told WWD. “For me, it’s all about loyalty, and how do you reimagine someone?”

Russell was among the throng of celebrities who attended the designer’s debut women’s ready-to-wear show for Dior in October.

“I couldn’t be more honored and elated to join the house of Dior, a brand which carries a creativity, grace, and timelessness that I’ve long admired — and to be alongside my dear friend Jonathan Anderson as he weaves his own unparalleled one-of-a-kind story with Dior,” she said in a statement.

Having won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Emerging Actress at the Venice Film Festival for her performance in “Bones and All,” opposite Timothée Chalamet, the actress is in high demand.

She is set to appear in the Korean thriller “Hope” opposite Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Hoyeon. Russell will also star in musician Frank Ocean’s untitled feature film debut, produced by independent studio A24.

Russell is also a friend of jeweler Tiffany & Co., frequently wearing its creations on the red carpet.
