Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season kicks off tonight with a Thursday showdown featuring the Minnesota Vikings heading west to take on the Los Angeles Chargers at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
The Vikings came up short in their second-half comeback attempt against the Eagles on Sunday, falling back to .500 for the year in a 28-22 loss. It was another so-so outing for tight end T.J. Hockenson in what has been an underwhelming year for him so far.
Below, we’ll go over Hockenson’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 8.
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson
Hockenson caught six of nine targets for 43 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles, finishing in the 16-21 range among tight ends in all scoring formats for the week. It was the most targets that the veteran Pro Bowler had received this season, but he still wasn’t able to do much with it and that’s been the story of his year.
Perhaps Carson Wentz starting over an injured J.J. McCarthy is the root of this lack of production, but Hockenson has undoubtedly been one of the biggest fantasy disappointments across the board through the first seven weeks of the regular season. We’ll see if he can finally have a breakout performance in primetime.

Sit. Unfortunate for Hock, tonight’s game in L.A. could be a matchup problem. The Chargers have held opposing tight ends to just 271 yards off 27 receptions this season, holding them to just 7.3 fantasy points for game. This is just further confirmation to sell your Hockenson stock if you haven’t already.
